What we collect

Information you give us

• name, email address, phone number
• shipping and billing addresses
• order history and correspondence with us
• vehicle information you enter to search for parts
• account details, if you create an account

Information collected automatically

• IP address, browser type, device information and operating system
• pages viewed, referring pages, and how you move through our site
• cookies and similar technologies (see below)

Payment information

Payments are processed by our payment provider. Card numbers are submitted directly to that provider and are not stored on our systems. We receive confirmation of payment, the last digits of the card and the billing address.

Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

• process, fulfil and deliver your orders
• communicate with you about orders, returns and enquiries
• provide customer support
• show you products compatible with the vehicle you search for
• detect and prevent fraud
• meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
• operate, maintain and improve our site

We do not sell your personal information.

Where you have given consent, we may also send you marketing communications about products and offers. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by contacting us.

Consent

By providing personal information and placing an order, you consent to us collecting, using and disclosing that information as described in this policy.

You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services, including fulfilling an order in progress.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as necessary to run our business:

Distribution partners. We do not hold inventory. When you place an order, we send the information needed to fulfil and deliver it — your name, delivery address, phone number and the items ordered — to the distribution partner shipping that item. Some of our distribution partners are located in the United States.

Shipping carriers. To deliver your order and provide tracking.

Payment processing. To take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks.

Our e-commerce platform. Our store runs on Shopify, which processes order and customer data on our behalf.

Professional advisers and authorities. Where required by law, or to establish or defend legal claims.

Information stored or processed outside Canada

Some of our service providers and distribution partners store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While information is in another country, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under its laws.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies to operate the site, keep items in your cart, remember your preferences and language, and understand how the site is used.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies will affect how the site works, including the checkout.

We use cookies in the following categories:

• Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function, including the cart, checkout, security and language preference. These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics. Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• Marketing. Used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and, where you have consented, to show you relevant offers.

Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Order and transaction records are retained for 6 years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Account information is retained while your account is active.

Security

We use reasonable physical, organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use and modification. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a breach of security safeguards occurs that presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulators as required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you
• correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions
• request deletion of your information, subject to our legal retention obligations
• receive a copy of the information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format, or have it transferred to another organisation where technically feasible
• request that we cease disseminating information about you, or de-index a link to it, where dissemination contravenes the law or a court order

To exercise any of these rights, contact our privacy officer. We will respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will explain why and tell you how to challenge that decision.

Automated decision-making

We do not use your personal information to make decisions about you based exclusively on automated processing.

Our site does use your vehicle search to show you products recorded as compatible with that vehicle. This filters what you see; it does not make any decision about you.

Children

Our store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 14.
