Timing Components

Timing chains and gear sets, belts, tensioners, guides, covers and timing cover seals — SCE Gaskets, PRW, Edelbrock and more, fitting Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and Pontiac vehicles.
Timing components are a maintenance interval rather than an upgrade. A stretched chain retards cam timing and costs power quietly before it fails loudly; a snapped belt on an interference engine bends valves and turns a service item into a rebuild. If an engine is apart for any other reason and the timing set is near its interval, it is nearly always worth doing.
Buy the set, not the part. Chains, sprockets, tensioners and guides wear together, and a new chain on worn sprockets wears to match them within a short time. Replace the cover seal at the same time — reaching it is most of the labour, and it is a common leak point once disturbed.
Most listings here carry verified vehicle fitment, so you can filter to your own year, make and model rather than guessing from a part number.
