Cable choice comes down to three things: the connectors on each end, the length, and what the cable is rated to carry. A USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 100W will charge a laptop; one sold for a phone may not, even though the plugs are identical. Length costs you a little speed and a lot of convenience, which is why the short ones exist for a cab and the three-metre ones for a back seat.
Power banks are rated in milliamp-hours, and the useful figure is lower than the printed one — conversion losses mean a 10,000 mAh bank does not deliver 10,000 mAh to a phone. Output wattage matters as much as capacity: a large bank with a slow output will take all evening to refill a laptop.

Common questions
Which cable do I need for my phone?
Match the port on the phone and the port on the charger. Recent Android phones and current iPhones use USB-C at both ends; older iPhones need a Lightning end. If the charger is an older block, the other end is likely USB-A.
Do more expensive cables charge faster?
Not by price, by rating. A cable carries what it is built to carry, and a 100W-rated USB-C cable will feed a laptop where a basic one will not. Beyond your device’s own limit, a higher rating changes nothing.
How many phone charges is 10,000 mAh?
Roughly two for a typical phone, not the three the arithmetic suggests. Voltage conversion loses some of the stated capacity, so treat the number on the box as a ceiling rather than a promise.
Can I take a power bank on a plane?
Carry-on only, never checked, and airlines set limits by watt-hours rather than mAh. Most banks in this range are well under the usual threshold, but the rule is the airline’s and worth checking before you fly.
