Blue Ox builds towing and RV equipment — over 100 parts across tow bars, base plates, weight-distribution hitches and sway control.

Flat towing is the speciality — pulling a vehicle on its own four wheels behind an RV. That system has three parts that must match: a tow bar, a vehicle-specific base plate that bolts to the towed vehicle's frame, and the wiring and supplemental braking that most provinces require above a weight threshold. Missing the braking component is the most common and most serious omission.

Not every vehicle can be flat towed. Transmission type decides it, and towing a vehicle that is not rated for it destroys the transmission without warning — confirm against the manufacturer's own towing guide before buying a base plate for it.
