Spec's Stage 2+ clutch kit is built for the 02-05 Volkswagen Golf GTI and Jetta (1.8T, 2.8L VR6 and 2.3L, 6-speed) and takes the place of the stock clutch. It uses a sprung disc.
A clutch connects and disconnects the engine from a manual transmission: the pressure plate clamps the clutch disc against the flywheel to transmit power, and releases it when the clutch pedal is pressed.
