Fuelling is a matched system, and injector size is only one term in it. An injector flowing more than the pump can supply simply runs the rail pressure down under load, which is leaner at exactly the moment it should not be. Any meaningful injector change wants the pump, the lines and the regulator considered at the same time, along with the tune that has to know what the new injectors actually flow.

Fuel type drives material choice. Ethanol blends and methanol attack seals and coatings that gasoline leaves alone, so components are specified by compatible fuel as well as by flow — check both before ordering.
