ROUGH COUNTRY N3 REAR SHOCKS ; 22-26 TUNDRA 2WD/4WD 0-3.5" LIFT

Toyota Tundra Shocks Guide: Rear Shocks & Loaded Struts

This guide is for Toyota Tundra owners in Canada replacing worn shocks or matching shocks to a lift. The decision comes down to your Tundra's generation, its drive, the ride height the truck sits at now, and whether you need rear shocks, loaded struts, or both.

What to check first on your Tundra

  • Generation. Our shock pages split the Tundra in two: Shocks & Struts for 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra and Shocks & Struts for 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra. Every product named here is titled for one or the other, never both.
  • Lift height. Shocks are matched to a ride height range, so confirm the lift height on the truck before ordering. A stock or levelled Tundra and a truck with a 6-inch lift need different parts.
  • Position. Read the position in each title. The N3, Ironman and ICON shocks here are all titled Rear.
  • Drive. The N3 rear shocks are titled 2WD/4WD; the loaded strut pairs are titled 4WD only.
  • Quantity. The loaded struts are sold as a pair; Ironman says its package contains one shock.

Rough Country N3 rear shocks

Rough Country titles its N3 rear shocks by generation and lift range, and says they take the place of the stock rear shocks:

Rough Country loaded strut pairs

A loaded strut comes with its coil spring already assembled, so the strut and spring go in as one unit. Rough Country lists two pairs for the 2007-2021 Tundra 4WD, each sized for a set lift height:

Pair the strut height with rear shocks for the same range; on a 2007-2021 truck that means the 0-3.5 or the 4-8 inch N3 rears above. More from the brand: Rough Country Shocks & Struts.

Other rear shocks

Ironman 4x4, 2007-2021

The Ironman 4x4 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra Foam Cell Rear Shock Absorber (24781FE) lists ride height options of 0-3 inches. Ironman says the foam cell design eliminates aeration for steadier damping under heavy loads, that each shock is custom-valved for the vehicle and force-velocity tested before packing, and that the package contains one shock. See Ironman 4x4.

ICON, 2022-2026

The ICON 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra, 0-1.5" Lift, Rear, V.S. 2.0 Aluminum Series Shock Absorber, Internal Reservoir (56516) is valved for a 0-1.5 inch lift on the Tundra. ICON says its length and damping are set for this application and that it is 100% rebuildable and revalveable. The title also names the 2023-2026 Sequoia. See ICON Vehicle Dynamics.

Before you order

Write down your generation, drive and current lift, then pick parts titled for all three. Each product page lists the years, makes and models it fits, and the vehicle selector filters the full Shocks, Struts & Suspension category to your Tundra. Orders ship across Canada and are priced in Canadian dollars. If you are planning a lift as well, read our Tundra lift kit guide first, then match the shocks to the height you end up with.

FAQ

Do I need different shocks if my Tundra is lifted?

Yes. Shocks are matched to a ride height range. The Rough Country N3 rear shocks, for example, come in 0-3.5 inch and 4-8 inch versions for the 07-21 Tundra. Measure or confirm your lift before ordering.

Which shocks in this guide are titled for the 2022-2026 Tundra?

The Rough Country N3 Rear Shocks (22-26 Tundra 2WD/4WD, 0-3.5 inch lift) and the ICON V.S. 2.0 rear shock with internal reservoir (2022-2026 Tundra, 0-1.5 inch lift).

Do the loaded strut pairs fit a 2WD Tundra?

Their titles say 07-21 Tundra 4WD only. The N3 rear shocks are titled 2WD/4WD.

Is the Ironman shock sold as a pair?

Ironman's description says the package contains 1 shock absorber. Check the product page for the quantity you need.
