Ram 2500 Lift Kits: How to Choose by Year, Air Ride and Height
Share
This guide is for Ram 2500 owners choosing a lift kit. The decision comes down to your model year, whether your truck has air ride or a factory package a kit excludes, and how much lift you want, because a taller lift can need driveline parts as well.
What to check first on your Ram 2500
- Model year. Kit titles below read 14-24, 2014-2018, 2019-2024 and 25-26, which do not line up neatly with generations. Match your year to the title first.
- Drive. Several titles here say 4WD; otherwise the fitment table lists the drive.
- Air ride. Some trucks have factory air suspension. The Rough Country 2.5" title below says Without Air Ride, and ReadyLift says its 3" kit is not compatible with air-equipped trucks.
- Trims and packages. Some titles say "select trims", and one is titled Except Power Wagon. ReadyLift's notes also exclude trucks with the factory snow plow package or ambulance package, which matters if your truck was built to plow.
What a lift kit does, and what else it may need
A suspension lift raises ride height to clear larger tires. Kits vary in what they include, so check the parts list. The kits here range from coil spacers to radius arm systems and bolt-on kits with drop brackets. At taller lift heights, Zone Offroad notes that driveline vibrations can occur, and carrier bearing drop kits address vibration on lifted trucks with a 2-piece driveshaft.
Kits titled for 2014 through 2024
The Rough Country 2.5" Lift Kit, 14-24 Ram 2500 4WD Without Air Ride adds 2.5 inches of suspension lift for ground clearance. Its title runs across both the 2010-2018 and 2019-and-newer pages, and it is titled without Air Ride.
Kits for the 2019-and-newer Ram 2500
- ReadyLift Suspension Lift Kit, 3" Lift, SST, Coil Spacers, 2019-2024 Ram 2500, select trims, 4WD (69-1930): raises the truck by 3 inches. ReadyLift says it is not for the Power Wagon or trucks with the factory snow plow or ambulance package, and not compatible with air bags or air suspension. The fitment table lists each trim.
- Fabtech Radius Arm Lift System, 5" Lift, Performance Shocks, 2019-2024 Ram 2500 (K3180): Fabtech's tubular radius arms provide increased caster for oversized tires and lifted heights. A straight vertical coil, set on a Fabtech angular spring mount that attaches to the factory seat, is meant, Fabtech says, to give a supple ride without losing load capacity, and the rear uses a dual rate spring for highway ride first and heavy loads second. The factory bump stop cushions are retained.
- Rough Country 5" Lift Kit with Front Driveshaft & 10 Bolt T-Case, 25-26 Ram 2500 Except Power Wagon: check the product page for what is included and which transfer case it is for.
Kits for the 2014-2018 Ram 2500
- ReadyLift Suspension Lift Kit, 4.5" Lift, 2014-2018 Ram 2500 (69-1242): a bolt-on kit that ReadyLift says suits negative offset wheels with up to a 37" tall tire. It includes front radius arm drop brackets, a replacement front track bar relocation bracket, front and rear shock extensions, bump stop extensions, longer sway bar end links and front sway bar frame side spacers. ReadyLift excludes the Power Wagon and snow prep or ambulance package trucks.
- Zone Offroad Transfer Case Indexing Ring Kit, 2014-2018 Ram 2500: for 6-bolt transfer case trucks, it repositions the front output flange to improve the front driveline angle once lifted, and lets the factory front driveshaft be reused (with a spacer) on 4-6.5" lifts. A bolt-in replacement crossmember with an integrated transmission mount is included.
For 2010-2013 trucks and the 2003-2009 Dodge Ram 2500, none of the kits named here is titled for your years; start from the vehicle pages below.

FAQ
Will a 2019-2024 kit fit a 2025 Ram 2500?
Not unless its title says so. The Rough Country 5" kit in this guide is titled 25-26 Ram 2500 Except Power Wagon; the other 2019-and-newer kits named here are titled up to 2024. Use the vehicle selector to confirm.
My Ram 2500 has air ride. Which kits can I use?
Read the titles and notes closely. The Rough Country 2.5" kit is titled Without Air Ride, and ReadyLift says its 69-1930 kit is not compatible with air-equipped trucks, either air bags or air suspension. Check each product page for its air ride notes.
Do I need driveline parts with a taller lift?
Possibly. Zone Offroad says driveline vibrations can occur at taller lift heights. Check your kit's parts list first.
How large a tire can I run?
ReadyLift says its 4.5" kit for the 2014-2018 Ram 2500 suits negative offset wheels with up to a 37" tall tire. For other kits, check the product page, and check your province's rules on lift height and tire size.
