This guide is for Ford Ranger owners deciding how to protect the bed. The two choices here are a bed mat or a full bed liner, and the first thing to get right is which Ranger you have: the parts below are titled either for the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger or for the 2024+ Ford Ranger.
What to check first on a Ranger
- Generation. Husky Liners titles each part for one span, 2019-2023 or 2024+. Do not move a part from one generation to the other unless its title names your year.
- Mat or full liner. A mat protects the floor; a full liner, as Husky Liners describes it, also lines the sidewalls and covers the tailgate.
- Configuration. The titles do not state a bed length or cab. Each product page lists the years, makes and models it fits; use the vehicle selector before ordering.
Bed mat or full bed liner
A bed liner or bed mat covers the floor of a pickup box, protecting the painted metal from scratches and dents caused by cargo sliding and shifting. That is the whole job of a mat.
The Guardian Comfort full bed liner goes further. Husky Liners says it forms a flat surface over the floor ridges, bridges the gap between the bed and the tailgate, and lines the sidewalls, giving coverage for the bed floor, sidewalls and tailgate. Its DriGard top layer is soft, which the maker says is easier on delicate cargo and on your knees. Husky Liners also lists skid resistance to keep cargo from sliding, built-in UV defence against fading, and resistance to stains, moisture and odour, and says the liner removes cleanly when you sell or trade the truck.
