Chevy Silverado Leveling Kits: 1500, Trail Boss and 2500 HD
Share
This guide is for Chevrolet Silverado owners who want to take the factory nose-down rake out of the truck. A leveling kit raises the front to match the factory rear height, without changing the rear suspension. Choosing one comes down to three questions: which Silverado generation you have, whether it is a 1500 or a 2500 HD, and whether your trim already sits higher at the front from the factory.
If you want both ends of the truck higher, a leveling kit is the wrong part; our guide Leveling kit vs lift kit explains the difference.
What to check first on your Silverado
- Model year and generation. The kits below are titled by year range: 2019-2026, and 2007-2018 for the 1500, and 2020+ for the 2500 HD. Buy the kit whose title covers your year.
- Trim. On the 2019-2026 Silverado 1500, the Trail Boss has its own kits. ReadyLift explains why: the AT4 and Trail Boss are factory equipped with a 2" front lift, which includes a longer front shock/strut assembly. Rough Country's standard 2019-2026 kit is titled as excluding the AT4, AT4X, Trail Boss and ZR2.
- Drive. Some titles name the drive. The Pro Comp kit below is titled 2WD and Rough Country's Trail Boss kit is titled 4WD. Where a title names no drive, read the fitment table on the product page.
- 1500 or 2500 HD. Heavy-duty trucks take their own kits. The Ironman 4x4 kit below is titled for the 2020+ Silverado 2500 HD only.
How much front lift
The kits in this guide add between 1.5" and 3" at the front, as their titles state. The Trail Boss kits are the smallest, 1.5" from Rough Country and 1.75" from ReadyLift, because that truck starts with extra front height. ReadyLift says its 66-3921 kit provides the required amount of lift without causing conflict with the factory strut geometry and clearances. ReadyLift also notes that the AT4 and Trail Boss do not fit the same size tire, because of the difference in front fender opening design, so check tire sizes on the product page before you buy wheels and tires.
2019-2026 Silverado 1500
Most trims
- Rough Country 2" Leveling Kit, 19-26 Silverado/Sierra 1500 (excluding AT4/AT4X/Trail Boss/ZR2): a Boss series kit from Rough Country. The title rules out the AT4, AT4X, Trail Boss and ZR2, so it is the one to look at for other 2019-2026 trims.
- Pro Comp 3" Front Leveling Kit, 19-25 Silverado/Sierra 1500 2WD: the most front lift in this guide, titled for two-wheel-drive trucks from 2019 to 2025.
Trail Boss
- Rough Country 1.5" Leveling Kit, 19-26 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss 4WD: a Boss series kit titled for the Trail Boss with four-wheel drive.
- ReadyLift Suspension Leveling Kit, 1.75" Lift, Trail Boss (66-3921): titled for select trims of the 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. ReadyLift says it is similar to its 66-3086 kit for pre-2019 trucks. The fitment table on the product page lists the trims.
2007-2018 Silverado 1500
- Rough Country 2" Front Leveling Kit, 07-18 Silverado / Sierra 1500: one front kit whose title covers 2007 through 2018, so it spans both of those Silverado 1500 generations. On a 2007 truck, confirm on the product page that your body style is listed.
2020+ Silverado 2500 HD
- Ironman 4x4 3" Leveling Kit, 2020+ Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD: Ironman 4x4 lists a 3" lift height.

FAQ
Will a Silverado leveling kit fit a GMC Sierra?
Only when the title names the Sierra. In this guide, Rough Country's 2" 19-26 kit and 07-18 kit, the Pro Comp kit and the ReadyLift 66-3921 name both trucks. Rough Country's Trail Boss kit and the Ironman 4x4 kit name the Silverado only.
Can I put a standard kit on a Trail Boss?
Rough Country's standard 2019-2026 kit is titled as excluding the Trail Boss. ReadyLift says the Trail Boss is factory equipped with a 2" front lift, so use a kit titled for the Trail Boss.
Does a leveling kit lift the rear?
No. A leveling kit raises the front to match the factory rear height, without changing the rear suspension. To raise both ends, look at a lift kit.
Which kit fits a 2014-2018 Silverado 1500?
In this guide, Rough Country's 2" front kit is titled 07-18, which covers it. The 2014-2018 vehicle page lists more kits for that truck, and the product page lists the exact years.
