Chevy Silverado Air Suspension: Pacbrake Kits by Generation
Share
This guide is for Chevrolet Silverado owners looking at air suspension: an air spring kit for the rear of a Silverado 1500, a kit for a 2500 HD or 3500 HD, or a replacement air spring part. Most of the kits named here are Pacbrake, and every title carries conditions on years, bed, ride control or trim. Match those to your truck before anything else.
What air suspension changes
As the makers describe it, air suspension uses inflatable air springs in place of, or alongside, steel springs; changing the air pressure changes how much load each spring supports and how high the vehicle sits. Pacbrake says its Silverado 1500 kits here add air springs to the rear of the truck.
What to check first on your Silverado
- 1500 or HD. The "HD" in a kit name is not the truck. Pacbrake titles its Alpha HD, Alpha HD Pro and Alpha SD kits for the Silverado/Sierra 1500, and its Alpha XD Pro kit for the 2500HD/3500HD.
- Generation. The 1500 titles split into 07-18 and 2019-2026; the HD kit is titled 20-26. Nothing named here is titled for a 1999-2006 truck.
- Ride control. The 2019-2026 titles exclude Adaptive Ride Control and MagneRide, and the 07-18 Alpha HD and HD Pro titles exclude MagneRide. If your truck has either system, those kits are not titled for it.
- Trim. The 2019-2026 titles say AT4 and Trail Boss trucks require a 2" spacer, part HP10152. The HD title excludes the AT4X and ZR2.
- Bed and setup. The 07-18 Alpha HD and HD Pro titles name the 5'8" and 6'6" beds. The HD title excludes cab and chassis trucks and trucks with an aftermarket Curt 5th wheel package.
2019-2026 Silverado 1500
Two Pacbrake rear kits are titled for the 2019-2026 Silverado/Sierra 1500. Both exclude Adaptive Ride Control and MagneRide, and both carry the AT4/Trail Boss spacer note:
- Pacbrake Alpha HD Rear Air Suspension Kit (PCB-HP10340), titled for 2WD and 4WD trucks.
- Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Rear Air Suspension Kit (PCB-HP10340-J).
The titles do not explain what separates the Alpha HD from the HD Pro, so compare the two product pages. The spacer is a separate part number; check the product page for whether it comes in the box. Our page for these years is Air Suspension & Helper Springs for 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
2007-2018 Silverado 1500
- Pacbrake Alpha HD Air Suspension Kit, 07-18 Silverado/Sierra 1500: titled for 07-18 trucks with the 5'8" or 6'6" bed, plus the 2019 Silverado/Sierra 1500 LD/Limited, excluding MagneRide.
- Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Air Spring Kit, 07-18 Silverado/Sierra 1500: the same title conditions, in the HD Pro version.
- Pacbrake Alpha SD Rear Air Suspension for 07-18 Silverado/Sierra 1500: its title states no bed or ride-control condition, and the listing has no further description, so read the fitment table before ordering.
If you drive a 2019 Silverado 1500 badged LD or Limited, note that the 07-18 Alpha HD and HD Pro titles name it. Our air suspension page for the earlier years is Air Suspension & Helper Springs for 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500; there is a separate page for 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks. For 2014-2018, use the vehicle selector.
2020-2026 Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD
The Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro Air Suspension Kit, 20-26 Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD is titled for 2020-2026 heavy-duty trucks, excluding cab and chassis models, trucks with an aftermarket Curt 5th wheel package, and the AT4X and ZR2. The rest of the maker's line is on the Pacbrake page.
Replacement air spring
The Firestone Air Springs Front or Rear Replacement Bellow (FR6401) is a replacement bellow for an air spring, front or rear. Its title names no truck, so match it only by the fitment table on the product page. More from the maker is on Firestone Air Suspension & Helper Springs.
Shopping by truck
Browse Air Suspension & Helper Springs for the whole category. Each product page lists the years, makes and models it fits; use the vehicle selector to confirm your exact year and configuration. Parts are priced in Canadian dollars and ship across Canada. If you are also replacing shocks, see Chevy Silverado Shocks: 1500 vs HD, Front or Rear and Lift Height.
