Toyota Tundra Tonneau Cover Guide

This guide is for Toyota Tundra owners choosing a tonneau cover, with most of the covers named here titled for the 2022 and newer truck. What to check first on a Tundra

• Generation. Our tonneau cover pages split the truck in two: Tonneau Covers for 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra and Tonneau Covers for 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra. A cover titled for one is not a cover for the other.
• Bed length. Our fitment records list the 2022+ covers below for a 5'7" or a 6'7" bed. Some titles round the bed differently (Tyger calls it a 6.5' Box), and most titles name no bed at all, so match the part number to your truck with the vehicle selector and the fitment table.
• Trail edition. Two titles single out the Tundra Trail: the UnderCover Flex is titled "Without Trail Storage Boxes", and the RetraxPRO MX title excludes the Trail SE. If your truck has the Trail's bed storage boxes, read those titles closely.

Roll-up, folding or retractable

A tonneau cover closes over the open cargo box of a pickup to hide and shelter what is carried inside; depending on the design it rolls, folds, retracts or lifts open.

• Soft roll-up: a tensioned vinyl sheet on a rail system rolls forward to open the bed.
• Hard folding: rigid panels fold forward in sections and can usually be driven with the panels stacked.
• Retractable: the cover rolls into a canister at the bulkhead, so the bed can be left fully open without removing the cover.

Snow, slush and road salt sit on a Tundra bed for months, so look at how a cover handles water; seals and drain tubes are noted below where the maker lists them.

2022+ Tundra: soft roll-up covers

• Tyger T2X Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, 22-26 Tundra 6.5' Box: a soft roll-up cover titled for the long bed. The brand's other covers are on Tyger Tonneau Covers.
• TruXedo TruXport Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, 2022+ Tundra (264001): a spring-loaded SureTension Control System keeps the cover tight with no manual adjustments, and it rolls to the cab and secures with safety straps for 100 percent bed access. Black finish.

2022+ Tundra: hard folding covers

• BAK Industries BAKFlip FiberMax Hard Folding Tonneau Cover, 2022+ Tundra (1126440): aluminum folding panels with an FRP (fiberglass reinforced polymer) surface that BAK says resists dents, scuffs and dings, a robust hinge design and patented slam latches.
• UnderCover Flex Hard Folding Tonneau Cover, 2022-2026 Tundra, Without Trail Storage Boxes (FX41017): FRP composite panels fold on built-in prop rods that hold the cover open for driving, and rubber seals and drain tubes channel water out of the bed. More on UnderCover Tonneau Covers.

2022+ Tundra: retractable covers

• Retrax RetraxPRO MX Retractable Tonneau Cover, 2022+ Tundra, excl. Trail SE (80860): slides back to open the bed and pulls closed over the cargo area. Retrax lists this version without the deck rail system.

2007-2021 Tundra

None of the covers above is titled for the older truck; start on the 2007-2021 page linked above.
