Toyota Tacoma Lift Kit Guide: Years, Drive, Trim and Lift Height
Share
This guide is for Toyota Tacoma owners in Canada choosing a lift kit. Match the kit to your generation, drive and trim first, as the kit title states them; then compare how much lift you want and what comes in the box.
What to check first on a Tacoma
- Generation. Kits are built for a span of model years. Our vehicle pages split the Tacoma into Lift Kits for 1995-2004 Toyota Tacoma, Lift Kits for 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma, Lift Kits for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma and Lift Kits for 2024-2026 Toyota Tacoma. Of the kits below, the Rough Country titles say 05-23 and the Revtek titles say 16-23. The ReadyLift titles give lift height only, so open the product page to see the years and trims in its fitment table.
- Drive. Rough Country titles name the drive: some say 2WD/4WD, one says 4WD only.
- Trim and engine. Revtek splits its 16-23 kits by trim: one title says TRD Pro Only, another says Not Pro. Both say Gas.
- What is in the box. A suspension lift raises ride height to clear larger tires; component kits vary in what they include, so check the parts list. Titles that mention N3 shocks, for example, tell you shocks are part of the listing.
Lift kit, front lift or leveling
A suspension lift kit raises the vehicle above its factory ride height by replacing or adding suspension parts, which increases clearance underneath and makes room for larger tires. A leveling kit raises the front to match the rear. Some Tacoma kits sit between the two: the Revtek titles below give separate front and rear heights, with more lift at the front. Before you lift, check your province's rules on vehicle height and tire changes.
ReadyLift kits
- ReadyLift Suspension Lift Kit, 2.5" Lift (69-54250): ReadyLift says it lifts the Tacoma 2.5 inches over stock ride height for added ground clearance, for the Tacoma models in the fitment table.
- ReadyLift Suspension Lift Kit, 3" Lift (69-54300): ReadyLift calls this SST kit a second-generation version of its 3" SST kit for the previous model. Rear shock extensions let you keep the factory rear shocks, and differential drop parts correct the CV angles and allow over 3" of down travel.
- ReadyLift Suspension Lift Kit, 2.5" Lift (62-55340): the SST2.1 kit gives a 2.5" front lift with no-cut installation and includes a front skid plate. ReadyLift states clearance for up to 285/65R18 tires on an 18x9 wheel with +0 offset.

Rough Country kits for the 05-23 Tacoma
- Rough Country 3" Lift Kit, 05-23 Tacoma 2WD/4WD with N3 Shocks: adds 3 inches of suspension lift for ground clearance and is listed with N3 shocks.
- Rough Country 3.5" Lift Kit with N3 Shocks, 05-23 Tacoma 4WD: raises the truck 3.5 inches; titled for the 4WD Tacoma only.

Revtek kits for the gas 16-23 Tacoma
- Revtek 3" Front 1.5" Rear AAL Lift Kit, 16-23 Tacoma, Not Pro, Gas: 3" at the front and 1.5" at the rear, titled for trucks that are not a Pro.

FAQ
Which lift kit fits a 2024 Toyota Tacoma?
The kits in this guide that name years in their titles are titled 05-23 or 16-23, not 2024. For a 2024 or newer Tacoma, start on the 2024-2026 lift kit page and use the vehicle selector; the ReadyLift kits here list their years and trims in the fitment table on each product page.
Is there a lift kit for a 2003 Tacoma?
None of the kits named in this guide is titled for a 1995-2004 Tacoma. Browse the 1995-2004 lift kit page and confirm fit with the vehicle selector.
Does a TRD Pro need a different kit?
Follow the title. Revtek titles its 1.5" front, 1.25" rear kit for the TRD Pro only and its 3" front, 1.5" rear AAL kit for trucks that are not a Pro, both for the gas 16-23 Tacoma.
Do these lift kits include shocks?
It depends on the kit. The Rough Country kits here are listed with N3 shocks, and the ReadyLift 3" kit (69-54300) uses rear shock extensions so the factory rear shocks stay. Component kits vary, so check the parts list on the product page.
