Toyota Tacoma Bumpers: Choosing a Front or Rear Bumper

This guide is for Toyota Tacoma owners replacing a factory front or rear bumper. Pick by model-year range first, then by which end you are replacing, then by what the bumper has to carry: a light bar, extra lights or a winch.

What to check first on your Tacoma

• Model years. Tacoma bumpers are titled for a range of years, so start from yours. We group them as 2024-2026 Tacoma, 2016-2023 Tacoma, 2005-2015 Tacoma and 1995-2004 Tacoma. Some titles cover only part of a range, as the ADD bumper below shows.
• Front or rear. Every bumper named here says in its title which end it replaces.
• Sensors, camera, fog lights and winch. Replacement bumpers change approach or departure angle and the mounting points. On the front, check winch, sensor and fog light compatibility. On the rear, check sensor and camera compatibility.

Front bumper options

A replacement bumper mounts to the frame in place of the factory bumper and forms the outer protection at that end. On the front, the main differences are how lighting is mounted (an exposed light bar, a hidden one, or a full kit with lights included), whether a winch mount is built in, and how closely the bumper follows the factory body lines.

2024 and newer Tacoma

Go Rhino offers two Element front bumpers titled for the "24C Tacoma", both in textured black. The fitment tables on both list 2024-2025. The titles show the difference:

• Go Rhino Element Front Bumper with Hideaway Light Bar Mount (343921T): the light bar mount is a hideaway design.
• Go Rhino Element Front Bumper with Light Bar Mount (34392T): a standard light bar mount.

2016-2023 Tacoma

Ironman 4x4 Raid front and rear

The Ironman Raid Rear Bumper is titled for the 16-23 Tacoma. As with any rear bumper, check sensor and camera compatibility on the product page.

The Ironman 4x4 Raid Series Front Bumper Kit (BBR072K-BBBA) is titled for the 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma and takes the place of the factory front bumper. It comes as a kit with a 32-inch light bar, 40W spot clear lights and 20W spot amber lights. Ironman describes cutouts for cube lights and light bars, an included front rock guard to deflect rocks and debris on pavement or gravel roads, and Hi-Lift jack points. Winch-mount and bolt-on alternatives

The Attica 4x4 Front Bumper is titled for the 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma. Attica calls it the Apex Series Stealth Center Mount front bumper: a low-profile design with a built-in winch mount. Pick a winch separately and check it against the product page. More are on the Attica 4x4 Bumpers page.

The Addictive Desert Designs PRO Bolt-On Front Bumper is titled for the 16-20 Toyota Tacoma only, so it is not for a 2021-2023 truck. ADD says it stays flush with the front of the Tacoma and follows its body lines without a plastic valence. It uses .120 in. wall steel tubing with an aluminum skid plate, and a light mount under the main tube takes up to 6 cube lights or a 20 in. LED light bar, which keeps the lights tucked away.

Older Tacomas

Narrowing it down

Decide where your lights will live first: a full kit with lights included, a mount you fill yourself, or a hideaway mount. Then decide on a winch, which needs a bumper with a winch mount. If a winch or light bar will sit where the front plate goes, check your province's rules on licence plate placement.

FAQ

Will a 2016-2023 Tacoma bumper fit my 2024?

Only if the product title covers 2024. The bumpers named here are titled either for the 2016-2023 range (or part of it) or for the 24C Tacoma. Check the fitment table and use the vehicle selector.

Does a light bar come with these bumpers?

Only where the title says so. The Ironman Raid front kit lists a 32-inch light bar and spot lights; the Go Rhino Element bumpers list a light bar mount, and the ADD PRO Bolt-On has a light mount.

Do I need a winch bumper?

Only if you plan to run a winch. The Attica Apex Series bumper has a built-in winch mount. The winch itself is a separate purchase, so check that the bumper suits it.

Will my parking sensors still work?

Check before you order. Replacement bumpers change mounting points, so look for sensor and camera notes on the product page for a rear bumper, and winch, sensor and fog light notes for a front bumper.
