Ford F-150 Bumpers: Front, Rear, Overlays and Raptor Options

This guide is for Ford F-150 owners replacing a front or rear bumper, dressing up the factory bumper with an overlay, or adding lights to a Raptor's front bumper. Start with your truck's years, then decide front or rear, then check what the part does to your sensors, adaptive cruise control and licence plate.

What to check first on an F-150

• Generation. Our bumper pages follow the truck's generations: Bumpers for 2009-2014 Ford F-150, Bumpers for 2015-2020 Ford F-150 and Bumpers for 2021-2026 Ford F-150. Many titles are narrower than the page (2018-2019, 2021-2023), so read the years in each title.
• Trim. Titles below name the Raptor, and the King Ranch and Platinum; Ironman 4x4 says its Apex bumper does not fit the Lightning.
• Front or rear. A replacement bumper mounts to the frame in place of the factory front or rear bumper and forms the truck's outer protection at that end.
• Sensors, camera and adaptive cruise. Replacement bumpers change approach or departure angle and mounting points, so check sensor, camera, winch and fog light compatibility. Two front bumpers below call out adaptive cruise control.
• Licence plate and block heater. Both overlays below are titled with a block heater hole, and one is titled for trucks without a licence plate.

T-Rex fog light kit for the 2017-2020 Raptor

The T-Rex Front Bumper LED Fog Kit for 17-20 F150 Raptor is a lighting kit rather than a bumper: its title lists six 3-inch LED pod lights and a wire harness for the Raptor's front bumper. Check the product page for exactly how it mounts.

Bumper overlays with a block heater hole

An overlay goes over the factory bumper instead of replacing it. Both of these Cloud-Rider overlays are titled with a block heater hole:

• Cloud-Rider Black Bumper Overlay for 18-19 F150 King Ranch & Platinum, titled for trucks without a licence plate.
• Cloud-Rider Bumper Overlay for 09-13 F150, for the older truck.

Neither title says which end of the truck it covers, so check the product page photos and details.

Replacement front bumpers

2018-2020: Body Armor 4x4 Ambush Series (non-winch)

The Body Armor 4x4 2018-2020 F150 Ambush Series Front Bumper (Nonwinch) is made from 3/16" and 1/4" cold roll steel, bolts on, is OE sensor compatible and has two welded D-ring mounts. It is not winch compatible. Light fitment is a 30" dual-row LED bar and two cube LEDs, in a two-stage black light-texture finish. Body Armor 4x4 says it does not accommodate adaptive cruise control; for that, it points to the FD-4000. Its fitment table lists 4WD trucks. See Body Armor 4x4 Bumpers.

2021 and later: Ironman 4x4 Apex Triple Hoop

The Ironman 4x4 Apex Triple Hoop Front Bumper with 40W Flood Clear Lights (BBP109AK-BFN) is titled for the 2021+ Ford F-150. It replaces the factory front bumper and comes fitted with 40W flood clear lights. Ironman 4x4 says it is compatible with all proximity sensors, includes bolt-on, frame-mounted recovery points, and does not fit F-150 Lightning models. See Ironman 4x4 Bumpers.

2021-2023 Raptor: Addictive Desert Designs Phantom

The Addictive Desert Designs 21-23 Ford F-150 Raptor Phantom Front Bumper is a low-profile, prerunner-inspired bumper for the third-generation Raptor, built from plate steel rather than tube steel, with a 3/16-inch aluminium skid plate. Lighting options are a central 20-inch radius light bar mount and 10-inch SR light mounts behind each side panel. Sensor mounts keep the parking sensors working. ADD says an adaptive cruise control relocation bracket is required, but the intercooler does not need to be moved.

FAQ

Will a new front bumper work with adaptive cruise control?

Not always. Body Armor 4x4 says its 2018-2020 Ambush front bumper does not accommodate adaptive cruise control and points to its FD-4000 instead. Addictive Desert Designs says its Raptor Phantom bumper needs an adaptive cruise control relocation bracket. For any other bumper, check the product page.

Which of these parts are titled for the Raptor?

The T-Rex front bumper LED fog kit is titled for the 2017-2020 F-150 Raptor, and the Addictive Desert Designs Phantom front bumper for the 2021-2023 F-150 Raptor. The others do not name the Raptor in their titles, so check the product page before you order.

Does the Ironman 4x4 Apex bumper fit the F-150 Lightning?

No. Ironman 4x4 says the Apex Triple Hoop front bumper does not fit F-150 Lightning models. It is titled for the 2021+ Ford F-150.

Why do the Cloud-Rider overlays mention a block heater hole?

Both are titled with a block heater hole, which matters if your block heater cord comes out through the bumper in winter. The 2018-2019 overlay is also titled for the King Ranch and Platinum without a licence plate, so match your trim and plate setup to the title.
