Warn

Warn has been building winches since 1948 — over 100 parts across the ZEON and VR EVO ranges, plus mounts, hubs, fairleads, rope and recovery gear.
Size the winch to the vehicle, not the other way round: rated line pull should be at least one and a half times gross vehicle weight, because a stuck vehicle weighs more than a rolling one once mud, a slope and a buried tire are involved. Warn's series numbering follows that pull rating, so the model number is the specification.
Line choice is a safety decision. Synthetic rope is lighter, floats, and falls to the ground if it parts; steel cable resists abrasion on rock but stores far more energy when it fails. Either way, the mount must be a plate engineered for the pull — a bumper with holes in it is not a winch mount.
