Everything here is bought to a measurement rather than to a model year. Bearings come in standard and undersizes to match a crank that has been ground; pistons come in oversizes to match a bored block. Order after the machinist has measured, not before — the parts that fit are decided by what the machine work leaves, not by the original specification.

Clearance is the number that governs assembly. Bearing clearance, ring end gap and piston-to-wall all have target ranges, and each is set by measuring the actual parts rather than trusting the box. A harmonic damper is a wear item on an older engine and worth replacing during a rebuild rather than after one.
