Low and high are the 25th and 75th percentiles.
If you are adding one gauge to a working vehicle, it is almost always a pressure or a temperature gauge — those are the two that tell you something is going wrong before it has gone wrong. Voltmeters are the cheapest group (median $166) and are worth it on a truck with a winch or a second battery.

Read that third row carefully. A direct-fit dash kit is not a mount — it is a complete replacement instrument panel with a full set of gauges already in it, which is why its median is $2,166 against $167 for an empty A-pillar pod. Both sit in the same collection and they are twenty times apart in price. If you are adding one gauge, you want a pod.
Panel mount, pillar or dash
An A-pillar pod puts the gauge in your sightline without cutting anything, and it is vehicle-specific — the pillar shape is the fitment. A dash or cup pod sits lower and is often universal. Panel mounting means cutting a hole, which is for a build rather than a daily driver.
Common questions
Does the gauge come with the sender?
Mechanical gauges usually include the line and fitting; electrical gauges need a matching sender, which may or may not be in the box. The product page lists what is included.
Will a pod fit my pillar?
Pods are moulded to a specific pillar, so use the vehicle selector. Gauge diameter matters too — 2-1/16 inch and 2-5/8 inch are the common sizes and they are not interchangeable.
Why is one 'mount' two thousand dollars?
Because it is a complete direct-fit dash with a full gauge set in it, not an empty holder. Check the title before you judge the price.
